This is probably my most expansive World of Darkness section, devoted to one of their best and most innovative games. Browse away, use what you want, and feel free to swing by my Facebook or MySpace page and let me know what you think.

Innovative Legalism Here are the house rules that I use for Kindred of the East. Feel free to look at them, maybe you'll find some ideas you can use. Includes Revised-compatable rules patches, alternate character creation rules, and a simpler way of handling Virtue checks.
The Practice of Divinity: The diverse Celestial Tribe is the dominant Dharma in India, older than the Quincunx and with plans far more grandiose. Whether exploring them as antagonists or using them as the focus of a chronicle, I'm confident you'll find the scriptures herein enlightening. (Supplements the information provided in Heresies of the Way.)
The Roar of the Golden Lion: This heretical Dharma is practiced by those Kuei-jin who tire of the games of other vampires and civilization's trappings, and that retreat to the wilderness to find enlightenment.
Disciplines: I've been busy, here. First, Blood Lotus Blossoms details three alternate Discipline arts for common Kuei-jin Disciplines, plus one "combo" art. My revision of Beast Shintai grants the wilderness-dwelling vampire unique and powerful survival capabilities. And Heaven Dragon Shintai allows the vampire to briefly reclaim some of the lost heritage of the Wan Xian, and take the form of a servant of Heaven.
While the former Disciplines may be useful to players, sometimes a Storyteller may need to pull a particularly nasty trick out of his sleeve. Smog Shintai is one such trick favored by a few Scorpion Eaters, a Bile Shintai that uses air pollution as a deadly weapon.
Rites: Even more central to the Wan Kuei experience than Disciplines, rites offer more than mechanical benefits. They tie the vampire tangibly to the Middle Kingdom and the larger community of Kuei-jin and spirits. With this in mind, I share these seven new rites.
Hitoare: A martial art that employs the power of the P'o.
Spirits: New spirit minions of the East, ideal for use as nushi. (Be sure to see the complimentary expanded nushi sheet.)
Artifacts: Mystical items of the Middle Kingdom, used and/or created by vampires.
Heaven's Lashes, Hell's Blessings: A greatly expanded list of optional traits designed specifically for Kuei-jin.
Custom Sheets: The (in)famous Mr. Gone, the Grand Arhat of Character Sheets, was nice enough to make some sheets for us. There are two four-page versions, an "analogue" sheet that you have to go through all the trouble to fill in the dots yourself, and an interactive interactive sheet. Both are great. In addition, he also did a great expanded nushi sheet. Go to Mr. Gone's page, where you'll see these and lots of other KotE-related sheets.
Vampire: the Middle Kingdom: Part of my WoD Hybrid project, this is a revised version of Kindred of the East, its setting and elements faithfully converted to new World of Darkness rules.
Distant and Unwelcome Family
Even years after the original World of Darkness has ended, I'm determined to reconcile the differences between players of Vampire: the Masquerade and Kindred of the East. There is far more potential for interaction between Kindred and Cathayans than many think. On my Kuei-jin and Kindred page, I discuss some of these possibilities in detail. (Warning: Do not read unless you are willing to abandon faulty preconceptions.)
Storytellers and players may have their opinions about Eastern and Western vampires, but what do the vampires themselves think about one another? Though some players make prodigious use of metagame knowledge ("Your penangallan's Black Wind sucks compared to my Brujah's Potence plus Celerity!"), we often forget that the different breeds of vampire are often quite ignorant of one another. Much of a character's actual knowledge of others is misinterpreted through the filter of her own experiences, and she'll probably subscribe to a lot of out-and-out propaganda and misinformation. In this spirit, I present two examples: a Tremere's letter to his pontifex explaining the "true nature" of Cathayans, and a letter written by a Japanese Thrashing Dragon regarding his experiences with Kindred. Keep in mind both are considered experts on "the other vampires." While these misconceptions might be amusing, they also add realism and depth to the game world. Enjoy.

Kindred of the East Links
Since I inadvertently erased my original index, I lost a lot of my KotE links. While the ones below are good, more can't hurt. If anybody has any Kindred of the East pages or knows of any worth going to, or you had a link on my site before, please let me know by emailing me at Facebook or MySpace. It'll earn you good karma.
The Shadownessence Middle Kingdom Forum: We're a thriving little community of KotE fans at this forum. The game is alive and well there, and there's discussion of the other Eastern game supplements to boot; come join us and give us fresh ideas, feedback, or just say "hi". This link will take you directly to the forum, or you can click the banner below to go to the SnE index.
The Kindred of the East Fansite: An excellent frames-based website set up and maintained by several contributors. There's a lot of info here, including rites, sample characters, artifacts, Disciplines, fiction, and artwork. And whether you're running a one-shot or developing an entire chronicle, be sure to check out the story ideas page.
Shade's Beijing Chronicle Page: While Shade made this page for his chronicle, there's a lot of good stuff on there for the rest of us, too. Includes history, a general description of Kuei-jin in the Middle Kingdom, descriptions of Virtues and Dharmas, Storyteller characters, and a character sheet.
